Cate Arnold is a graduate student obtaining her MS in Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Rhode Island. She specializes in Earth and Environmental Science and is pursuing graduate certificates in GIS & Remote Sensing and Coastal Resilience. As a Graduate Research Assistant, her work focuses on equitable nature-based solutions, using GIS for environmental, spatial, and social vulnerability analysis.
During undergrad, Cate earned dual degrees in Environmental Science and International Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she conducted interdisciplinary research on natural-disaster flooding, environmental justice, and neighborhood change. Before coming to Rhode Island, she worked a variety of environmental jobs in North Carolina, including fisheries management and water quality education initiatives. When not working on outreach projects or academia-related activities, you can find her in the water, enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
